Cricut Circle Week 6: Feathered Friends Challenge

This week my challenge is:

Weekly Challenge #6: Feathered Friends Challenge 

The birds are flying south for the winter and we’re heading inside to ”feather” our own nests in preparation for the cooler months ahead.  This challenge is in honor of the birds! Create a project of your choice using a minimum of 2 different Cricut Cuts. Your project must also include a bird of some kind and stitching (machine stitching, hand stitching, or both).  

Project must be newly created for this challenge and must include atleast 2 different cuts from any Cricut cartridge to qualify. This challenge is open to Cricut Circle Members only.

So Birds and stitching was the challenge.  Here I used Cricut Imagine Snow Angel Cart to print out the background blue snow flake paper.  I used the new feature that allows you to print entire 12 x12 sheets.  Paper used was While Bassil. Then I took 3 pieces of white and used an EK success punch that looked like hills as the snow, I love the little holes on this punch.  I used a decorative stitch in blue to sew the layes of "hills" together.  I used Christmas Noel for the trees.  I have a white Base and then used the cricut imagine to cut out the trees, I used Snow Angel Cart one of the pattern papers to fill in the lacey trees.  I mounted them to the card using foam tape to give them some dimension.  The biggest challenge for this card was finding the bird.  After several tries with different birds, I went to Animal Kingdom.  I used the shadow feature on he cart to do the bird.  Layer one was done on the Cricut Imagine and I flooded the shape with black then used the flip feature on the cricut imagine to flip the image.  I did the top layer of the bird in the red pattern paper on Snow Angels.  To give the bird some fun, I put a jewel as an eye.  In the sky to add some fun to the snowflakes I used Jolee Boutique little snow flakes.  Please leave me a comment.

Cricut Circle Blog: Week 4 Challenge

This week the challenge:

Create a Layout, Card, or Altered project using the SKETCH provided. Your project must have a BIRTHDAY THEME and include BUTTONS in some way.    This is the template we had to follow

 and my version.

You can see I used the buttons as the center of the quilled flowers.  Here is what I used.  cuttlebug embossing folder for the white, Provo Craft Quilled flower Daisy for the flowers,  My Cricut Imagine and basic circle shape with color fill for the circles on the page.  Sentiment:  Happy Birthday from Birthday Cake Cartridge.  Enjoy and please feel free to leave me a comment.
 

Another Card made with Snow Angel Cart for Cricut Imagine

 
I love this cartridge.  I used the feature on the CI that allows you to flood the 12 x 12 paper that is were the blue snowflake paper came from.  I used one of the bonus prints which is the back ground.  then I took the house and a tree and did them in layers to make this card.  I used stickles to "ice" the house and background and used a jewel I had as the piece to hold open this easle card.  I also embellished with some snowflakes I found this year .  Seasons Greetings is from a Christmas solutions Cart that came out a few years ago.

 
This gives you an idea of how dimensional this card is.  I use 3M foam adhesive tape and cut it to the size I need.  Lots of layerings in this card.

Cricut Impression Snow Angel Cartridge Project

 
Snowflakes were done in layers at 1.5".  The layer they are attached to is from the CI cart that I flooded with the Snow Flake Paper. Sized at 2  Then the white rounded corner square is cut sized at 2.2

I made the square box using scor-pal.  The box is made from a 10 1/2 x 5" piece of card stock.  You will score the paper in 1/2 like a hot dog to allow you to form the bottom.  Then score at 2 1/2, 5/ 7 1/2 , 10,  you will have about 1/2 left this is the tab for the box.  Then on one end cut off the tab and cut up to the score line to form the bottom of the box.

For the lace I used a punch from SU and punched a piece of 10 1/2 x 2 piece of white paper.  Score at 1/2" lenght wise.  Attach so that it fold over so the lace is on the outside.  Glue in place and make your box.

The little gift card is just a piece of 2 1/2 x 5" paper folded in half.  I added pearl accents ,  to me they looked better than rhinestone diamond looking ones.  Enjoy.

Week 3 Cricut Circle Challenge: My Entry

The challenge for the week is to make a Halloween Themed project using a transparent, vellum, acrylic, or plastic element to the card.

I used the Cricut Cartridge Happy Hauntings to cut the frame and the pumpkin.  I used my Cricut Imagine to fill in the design on the frame and the Pumpkin and the cart I used was Cricut Imagine More.  I used acrylic to "float the pumpkin".  also the pumpkin eyes are done with acrylic that I used my copin yellow marker to make it look like a candle burning.  the card is an Easle card.  If you look close the card stays up by three tiny brads that look like buttons.  I did use SU brown ink around the pumpkin.

 
This is the full card.  I really love the way the pumpkin is floating in the frame.

 
You can see the three little button brads that help this card stay up, and you can see the "yellow" flame at the eyes.  You can see how the card is very dimensional and that frame just floats from the back ground.

 
Here is a close close up of the pumpkin.  You can see some of the brown ink to highlight and you can see the way I used the copic to color the arcylic and outline the eyes and mouth.

Frame was cut at 6".  Acrylic circle was cut at 4", (you need two so you can get that float look,  The pumpkin was cut at 2.5".  The phrase BOO is cut at 1.5"  All from Happy Hauntings, the cricut Imagine was used to color the design and to cut out the images.

Okay, So here is my entry.  This was made from Nursery Tales Cricut Imagine Cart.  Butterfly is from Give a Hoot Reg Cricut Cart. It Matters from the Give a Hoot cart.  Pink sparkle ribbon from Sandy Lion stickers.  Breast Cancer Ribbon from Michaels.  Enjoy!!!!!!!

Cricut Imagine CARD Nursery Tail

I did not think I was going to like this CART,  I just got my replacement machine so I decided to try this card.  Everything on this card was made with the CI.  The Thank you is from Beyond Birthdays.  I think that will be my favorite cart for the cricut imagine.

This is printed on Stathforth matte photo paper.  The facial features I used Copic markers instead of the CI.  The pumpkin body has dots on it but not sure if you can see as I took the pic from my Cell phone.  Mini Monsters PC Card used in the Cricut Imagine.
